East Marginal Way Storm Pipe Replacement Project

Project Update - April 2015

The project's drainage and roadway work were completed on April 10! The detour has been fully removed and the traveling public once again has full and unrestricted use of the roadway. Thank you for patience over the past few months as we completed this critical emergency work. The project is now substantially complete with only minor work items remaining. This work should have no impact on the traveling public.

Project Overview:

The project consists of the installation of large diameter storm sewer pipe down the center of East Marginal Way from S 120th to S126th St. The project is necessary as part of an emergency repair of the existing storm system. As part of the installation, the relocation of a distribution water line, the relocation of a sewer force main, and installation of other miscellaneous items will be required.

Traffic in the area will be limited to the northbound direction. Southbound traffic will be detoured to Interurban Avenue S as shown on the plan below. The project is scheduled to be completed by the end of the year.

If you have any questions or concerns, please feel free to contact the project’s resident engineer at 206-707-4712.
